Mirc Electronics net dips 28% to Rs 10.3 cr
 
Mirc Electronics has posted a 27.56 per cent decline in its net profit at Rs 10.30 crore for the quarter ended december 31, 2004 compared with Rs 14.22 crore in the year-ago period.
 
Total income increased 24.86 per cent to Rs 385.92 crore for the third quarter of current fiscal against Rs 309.06 crore for the same quarter last fiscal, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
 
Madras Cements net drops 32% to Rs 2.8 cr
 
Madras Cements registered a profit after tax of Rs 2.79 crore in the third quarter of 2004-05, lower by 32.28 per cent in relation to the previous year's net profit of Rs 4.12 crore.
 
The board has approved the payment of the second interim dividend of 30 per cent on shares with a face value of Rs 10. Net sales for the quarter was Rs 160.76 crore, higher by 7.18 per cent in comparison with last year's Rs 149.98 crore.
 
The company's performance was affected by a 30.02 per cent increase in power and fuel expenses to Rs 56.13 crore in the quarter. The same for the previous year was Rs 43.17 crore.
 
Madras Fert pares loss 44% to Rs 5.14 cr
 
The Chennai-based Madras Fertilizers Ltd has reported a 43.76 per cent reduction in net losses to Rs 5.14 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2004 compared with Rs 9.14 crore for the same period last year.
 
The company's total turnover registered a growth of 10.48 per cent to Rs 378.59 crore in the third quarter from Rs 342.10 crore for the corresponding period the previous year.
 
Total expenditure increased by 11.76 per cent to Rs 358.15 crore for the third quarter in 2004-05 compared with Rs 320.45 crore for the same period last year.
