Mittal in the race for E&Y's global honour

Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman & group managing director of Bharti Enterprises and the winner of the Ernst & Young Indian Entrepreneur Of The Year award for 2004, will be inducted into the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of the Year Academy on May 28 at Monte Carlo.
 
Entrepreneur Of The Year Award winners from 35 countries will gather at Monte Carlo for the fifth annual World Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards. This award recognises the global impact of entrepreneurs and honors their positive impact that they have on their local communities, their countries and the world.
 
An independent panel of judges made up of previous year's Entrepreneur Of The Year winners and leading academics drawn upon globally under the chairmanship of Howard H. Stevenson, Provost, Harvard University will select this year's Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year.
 
One of the panelists is T N Ninan, editor and publisher of Business Standard.
 
The Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the year programme recognises world-class entrepreneurs with a drive to succeed and motivate, from the global economy.
 
"Mittal has been one of the most successful entrepreneurs in post-deregulation India and and has played a key role in transforming the telecom landscape in the country", said Rajiv Memani, chief executive officer and country managing partner, Ernst & Young India.
