India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki has reported a 9.2 per cent dip in sales during August this year.
In a statement released today, the company said that it sold 59,908 vehicles in the month under consideration as against 65,968 units recorded in the same month of the previous year.
Passenger car segments in the A1, A2, A3 and C categories recorded a dip of 11 per cent during the month under consideration.
A total of 59,944 passenger cars like Alto, Swift, Wagon-R and M-800 were sold in August, 2008 as against 53,351 in the corresponding month of last year.
Meanwhile, the stock has dropped 4.4% to Rs 622 in a weak market today. The counter has seen trades of around 1.05 lakh shares so far (1240 hrs) on the BSE.
