MKV Rama Rao takes charge as MD, HPGCL

Rama Rao has worked in various capacities at coal and gas based thermal power stations

MKV Rama Rao has taken over the charge of Managing Director of Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL), the power generation Utility of Haryana. Giving details, a spokesman of HPGCL said here today that Rama Rao has worked in various capacities at the coal and gas based thermal power stations and corporate office of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), and brings with him rich experience of more than 35 years in the field of power generation and related regulatory and commercial aspects. He added that before taking over the charge of MD HPGCL, Rama Rao was working as Executive Director (Commercial) at the NTPC corporate office in New Delhi.
 
Rama Rao was head of the Faridabad Gas Power Station for a period of 2 years during 2008-10 and under his guidance the power plant achieved a record Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 85% which was the highest since inception. He added that Rama Rao was also responsible for early revenue realization of more than Rs. 70,000 Crore per year for NTPC.
