Mobikwik launches digital wallet for Windows smartphones

The App offers users the convenience and security to purchase goods and services on third party merchant websites

Digital wallet services company Mobikwik today announced launch of mobile wallet services for Windows phones in a joint effort with Technology giant Microsoft.

The MobiKwik App, which can be downloaded on all Windows smartphones, offers users the convenience and security to purchase goods and services on third party merchant websites.

It can also be used to recharge prepaid and post-paid mobile, television/DTH, data cards and make bill payments for broadband/landline phones, electricity, gas and insurance, Mobikwik said in a release.

The app will be available for Windows Phone 7 and 8 on the Windows Phone App Store. It is small in size, fast and light on the mobile phone CPU and bandwidth consumption, it added.
 

Users can park money, up to Rs 50,000 into the MobiKwik wallet and make hassle free payments for multiple transactions in only one click, it said.

"MobiKwik on Windows offers a fast and secure check-out experience for customers, something that is increasingly important as more customers shop and transact online," Microsoft India General Manager (Developer and Platform Evangelism) Joseph Landes said.

Started in 2009, MobiKwik is a digital wallet service with a turnover of around Rs 200 crore and has about 3 million users in India.
