MobME "" the mobile, media and entertainment arm of Thiruvananthapuram-based technology company Torque "" has logged on to the country's first interconnected bluetooth zone.

"Christened as BlueZone, the value-added technology enables mobile users to switch on bluetooth to send or receive mobile content such as photographs, wallpapers and ring tones," said Anish Joseph, product manager, BlueZone.

MobME, which is all set to raise up to $10 million from the US or West Asia venture capital market, plans to launch BlueZone in over 2,000 locations in India, he added.

This is expected to happen simultaneously with the setting up of its offices in New Delhi and Dubai in the coming months.

The BlueZone includes a multi-purpose kiosk, based on touch-screen technology. The kiosk also supports credit card-based transactions as well as a cash acceptor that can accept cash.

A printer attached to it give a receipt for every transaction made at the BlueZone kiosk. It would also be possible to download applications, which allow users to chat with people within BlueZone and also with users in other BlueZone. "We expect major brands to take up BlueZone to increase customer flow and interaction," Joseph added.
