Coffee chain Mocha has embarked upon an expansion plan to enhance its network to 60 outlets from the current 14, besides entering overseas markets like Africa, Europe, the Gulf and south-east Asia, by end-2008. "We aim to have 60 Mocha outlets across the country by end-2008 in tier-II cities, eastern India and the metros," Satyendra Dasondi, executive director, Impresario Entertainment and Hospitality (IEHPL), which owns the coffee chain, told PTI. All the Mocha outlets will be franchised. Each Mocha outlet would cost around Rs 50-70 lakh spread on 2,500-2,800 sq ft area. The company is also planning to franchise 10 outlets in south-east Asia in 3-4 years with its first outlet in Singapore scheduled to open by 2008 end. After this, Mocha plans to open a series of outlets in Dubai, Africa and Europe. "We will open one in Dubai, three stores in Africa and a few in Europe." At present, Mocha outlets are present in cities like Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Hyderabad. IEHPL would also open two Stone House Grills restaurants under its fine-dine division in Pune and Bangalore in the next three and nine months respectively, he said. The company presently has a Salt Water Grill in Mumbai and a Smoke House Grill in Delhi. |
