Sponge iron maker Monnet Ispat today said its net profit rose by 0.40 per cent to Rs 82.06 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 over the same period last fiscal.
Total income of the company, however, declined 21.44 per cent to Rs 313.98 crore in the July-September quarter of this fiscal from the same period last financial year, Monnet Ispat said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
During the quarter, the company had shut down a 45 MW turbine for 36 days and a 37.5 Mw turbine for 14 days for undertaking repairs and routine maintenance, which impacted power generation during the quarter, the filing added.
Further, the board has appointed K K Khanna as executive director of the company. Khanna would be responsible for day-to-day operational matters and supervision of expansions being undertaken by the company, it added.
