Monsanto challenges MRTPC order in SC

US biotech major Monsanto has moved the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC), which has asked it to fix a reasonable price for sale of its seeds to farmers.

MRTPC, in its order dated May 12, had also directed Mahyco-Monsanto to fix such prices within a month.
