Monsanto India to shut herbicide co-packing unit

Monsanto India has decided to close down the co-packing facility of Sulfosulfuron-75% WG at Guwahati by December 31, 2006.

According to an official release issued by the company to the BSE today, it has sold the business of manufacturing and trading in herbicide Sulfosufuron - 75% WG in the trademark of "leader" to Sumitomo Chemicals India via business transfer agreement entered into by the two companies on August 31, 2006.
