Industrialists have started making a beeline to meet Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia who is being seen as a key policy figure in the government after a change of guard at the Finance ministry.
Ahluwalia is scheduled to meet industrialists Anil Ambani and J P Goenka tomorrow.
Earlier in the week, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani also called on Ahluwalia.
Last week, Vodafone India Chairman Analjit Singh and Chairman of UB Group Vijay Mallya had met the Planning Commission Deputy Chairman.
Anil Ambani has interests in power, telecom and other infrastructure sectors which are facing policy hurdles.
Following the exit of Pranab Mukherjee, who is contesting Presidential election, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has taken charge of the finance portfolio.
Ahluwalia, who had played a key role in the economic reforms initiated by Singh in 1991, is considered close to the Prime Minister.
Goenka heads J P Goenka Group of Companies which has interest in chemical and rubber sectors.
