Gurgaon-based Moods Hospitality Private Ltd sees huge potential in Punjab and will open 10 Chinese restaurants under the brand name "Yo China" in the state, with an investment of Rs 10 crore over two years. |
The restaurants, spread over 2,500-3,000 sq feet each, will come up in major cities like Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Chandigarh. Once the raw material supply chain and transportation is in place, the company will also expand in tier III cities like Patiala. |
Speaking to Business Standard, Moods Hospitality Private Ltd Managing Director Ashish Kapur said the increasing number of malls, along with the market demand, was the reason for their expansion in the region. |
"We are looking at food courts and 100-seat restaurants in malls and independent hi-end stores in upmarket locations," he added. |
The company already has a restaurant in Chandigarh. According to Kapur, the response from the region has been overwhelming. |
"Chandigarh was a test market for us to launch new products and services. Therefore, we are opening a second outlet in the city," he said. |
