Morning walks can soon be more than a pleasure stroll for senior citizens in Mumbai. They could be serious business for them, if the British Gas and Gas Authority of India-controlled Mahanagar Gas (MGL) has its way.
In an unprecedented move, the company, which supplies piped cooking gas to over 200,000 Mumbai homes, is planning to rope in senior citizens for sedentary activities such as meter reading, bill distribution and surveillance. For a remuneration, of course.
