Mphasis Q4 net up 34% at Rs 245 cr

Buoyed by customer additions from its holding company Hewlett-Packard, MphasiS, posted a net profit after tax of Rs 245 crore for the fourth quarter ended October 31, 2009, an increase of 34 per cent from Rs 183 crore a year earlier. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the company's bottomline modified 6.8 per cent from Rs 229.30 crore in the quarter ending July 31.

Revenues during the quarter ended October 31 reached Rs 1,132 crore, increasing 26.5 per cent over the corresponding period a year earlier. On a sequential (compared to the trailing quarter) basis, revenues increased 2.4 per cent from Rs 1,106 crore in the July quarter.

 

Consolidated revenues for the year ended October 31, 2009 were at Rs 4,264 crore, growing 43.2 per cent from Rs 2,977.4 crore a year earlier. During the same period, net profit increased by 121.2 per cent from Rs 410.7 crore to Rs 908.7 crore.

Operating profit during the year was Rs 925.2 crore, a growth of 131 per cent over the previous year. Operating margins improved to 21.7 per cent for the year from 13.4 per cent last year. The overall number of debtor days improved to 72.

MphasiS had over 33,000 people on its rolls at the end of October 2009. During the fourth quarter, MphasiS acquired the India business of AIG Systems Solutions (AIGSS), a subsidiary of American International Group Inc (AIG). AIGSS was integrated with the application services business of MphasiS.

MphasiS also recorded its first license sale in the healthcare space of a new product Javelina developed by its foreign subsidiary acquired in 2005.
