MPT breaks previous unloading records

The Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) is riding on the wave of success as its mechanical ore handling plant (MOHP) has broken all the previous records. On March 1, a record 70,078 tonne of iron ore was unloaded at the port's MOHP against the previous best of 67,001 tonne unloaded on November 1, 2004.
 
A record 15,58,957 tonne was unloaded in January 2006 with an average of 50,289 tonne per day as against the previous best of 14,83,659 MT during March, 2005 at an average of 47,860 tonne.
 
Also, in January 2006 record unloading was achieved by continuous barge unloading (CBU) that is 2,38,400 tonne surpassing the previous best of 2,20,400 tonne in December 2005.
 
On 21 January 2006, the CBU achieved recorded unloading in a single day that is 13,150 tonne against the previous best of 11,100 tonne on November 17, 2005. The biggest parcel size of 1,38,100 tonne was loaded on K Dahlia at MOHP on December 2, 2005 surpassing the previous record of 1,36,800 tonne loaded in January 2004.
 
The biggest berth day output was achieved when 1,27,503 tonne was loaded on vessel, K Dahlia on December 2, 2005 vis-à-vis earlier recorded of 1,10,030 tonne by M V Kenryu Maru on February 3, 2000.
