MRF, JK Tyre, Sobha Dev & Plethico Pharma Q1 results

A rise in direct costs, including raw material and staff costs, in the third quarter ending June 2008, led to a lower net profit for tyre major MRF.

In the third quarter of the current financial year, Chennai-based MRF reported a 25 per cent drop in net profit to Rs 31.86 crore against Rs 42.50 crore in the third quarter of 2007-08. The fall in net profit was despite a 12 per cent increase in net sales of Rs 1,274.37 crore.

 

JK Tyre Q1 net flat at Rs 20 crore

JK Tyre & Industries on Thursday reported a marginal growth in its net profit after tax at Rs 20.24 crore for the quarter ended June 2008 compared with Rs 20.19 crore in the same period last year. The total income, however, rose by 17.59 per cent during the quarter to Rs 851.94 crore as against Rs 724.51 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Sobha Developers Q1 profit rises 24%

Sobha Developers, the Bangalore-based real estate developer, backed by growth across all realty segments, has reported 23.77 per cent higher profits at Rs 50.50 crore for first quarter ended June 2008 for 2008-09 as against Rs 40.80 crore reported in the corresponding period last year.

Plethico Pharma Q1 net 13%

Drug firm Plethico Pharmaceuticals on Thursday reported a standalone profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 37.02 crore in the quarter ended on June 2008, an increase of 13 per cent compared with the same period a year ago. The company reported a PAT of Rs 32.66 crore in the quarter ended June 2007.
