MRF, Novartis & Orient Paper Q3 Results

MRF net up 23%
MRF Ltd has reported a 23 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 13.92 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 against Rs 11.30 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

Net sales of the company rose by 14 per cent to Rs 929.32 crore from Rs 812.40 crore. The company reported a net profit of Rs 40.31 crore and net sales of Rs 3427.29 crore for the previous accounting year ended September 30, 2005.

Novartis net up 6% to Rs 23 cr
Novartis India has posted 5.96 per cent growth at Rs 23.06 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2005, as compared with Rs 21.80 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

During the period under review, sales grew 2.2 per cent at Rs 138.25 crore as against Rs 135.16 crore of the comparable previous quarter. The company's sales for the nine months of the current financial year stood at Rs 421.1 crore, up 7.3 per cent over the previous comparable period's Rs 392.4 crore.

Orient Paper PBT up at Rs 9.77 cr
Orient Paper and Industries, a part of the CK Birla group, reported a jump in its profit before tax at Rs 9.77 crore for the quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 0.77 crore earned in the corresponding period of the last financial year.

Turnover jumped to Rs 207.75 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 173.74 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
