Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd today said its net profit declined by 58.35 per cent to Rs 253 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010, compared to the same period last year.
The company posted a net profit of Rs 607.62 crore for the January-March quarter of 2009, MRPL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Income from operations rose to Rs 9,722.52 crore in January-March, 2010, from Rs 7,630.08 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.
The board of the company has proposed a dividend of Rs 1.20 per share of Rs 10 face value for shareholders.
For the year ended March 31, 2010, the company posted a net profit of Rs 1,112.38 crore, down 6.72 per cent in comparison to the previous fiscal.
Shares of MRPL today closed at Rs 74.40 on the BSE, up 0.88 per cent from the previous close.
