MRTPC notice to Maruti over 'misleading' ad

Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) today issued a notice to Maruti Udyog over a complaint filed by Hyundai Motors against a Maruti sales advertisement.

Accepting Hyundai's  petition, filed on friday, MRTPC asked Maruti to file its reply within two weeks.The matter has been listed for further hearing on September 27. The top two car makers of the country have come face to face after Hyundai challenged  Maruti's sales pitch in its latest campaign, saying it was "misleading and disparaging". Hyundai has said Maruti was indulging in unfair trade practices and sought relief from MRTPC.
