Mtnl Opens Access, Trai To Hear Cell Firms Today

After two days of disrupted services, cellular subscribers in Delhi today got a breather with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd opening all the points of connection with cellular operators.

MTNL had selectively blocked calls from cellular networks since Thursday, which had left the subscribers of Airtel, Hutch and Idea stranded.

Officials from Hutch and Airtel confirmed that the connection between their networks and MTNL has been restored after the former had lodged a written complaint with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and MTNL yesterday.

While MTNL has been denying any intentional blocking of calls from cellular networks, the mobile operators claimed that MTNL was being dragged into the fight between them and limited mobility service providers over the issue of access charges.

 

While the tangle between MTNL and cell firms have been resolved for the time being, there will be much action on tomorrow over the controversy of cell firms not allowing calls from limited mobile networks to pass through without
