MTNL Q1 net down 26%

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) today reported a 26% decline in net profit at Rs 172.49 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2005 as against Rs 233.91 crore in Q1FY05.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income decreased to Rs 1,403.58 crore in Q1FY06 from Rs 1,463.59 crore in Q1FY05.
