A complaint was filed by one Harakhchand Sojpaal Shah, a native of Gaagvaa village in Jamnagar district against Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited at Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Jamnagar on Monday.

The court has ordered police investigations into the matter. Shah has accused the RIL chairman of making a false commitment of providing employment and acquiring land owned by him in 1993. To support his allegations Shah has submitted set of documents to support the agreement.

Dilipsinh Jadeja, advocate of Shah told Business Standard, "Our client Shah was committed employment on acquiring the land owned by him, as desired by company on the 28th day of November in 1993, but since than the commitment has not been honoured by the company and despite repeated efforts to contact the company management, requesting them to provide employment as committed, he was ill-treated several times by the company officials and was refused employment."

So, finally he lodged a complaint of fraud and the court has ordered police investigations into the matter, added Jadeja.

As the land of Shah from Gagva village was acquired by the company for a water plant, matter of jurisdiction as to which police station shall conduct investigations as ordered by court, is unclear, "I've heard about the matter and the police investigation ordered by the court, but we haven't received any such orders either verbal or in writing to investigate the matter," claimed Panchkoshi B Division police sub inspector, R B Gosai, whereas D D Gohil, sub inspector at Meghpar police station was not even aware of the matter.

He said, "We are not aware of any such matter at this stage, nor have we received any orders from court instructing us to conduct any further police investigations into the matter either in writing or verbally."

However, after the matter reaches us we would be able to conclude as to which police station shall investigate the matter, depending on the geography and area of jurisdiction in which the incident has taken place, said Gohil.
