The Apollo Hospitals Group, major health care service provider of the country has sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Adani Group to set up a multi facilities hospital at Mundra. |
The proposed hospital is expected to be functioning by the end of 2006. The proposed hospital is the second multi facility hospital in Kutch district. The first is the G K Hospital in Bhuj. |
"The Adani Group will provide the location and the building whereas the Apollo Group facilitate with all modern medical instruments. The building will be given to the Apollo on a lease basis. I think with this hospital the local people also get benefited," Sanjay Gupta, chief executive officer (infrastructure) of Adani Group told Business Standard on Tuesday. |
Adani Group is developing a SEZ at Mundra close to its existing port, Mundra Port. |
In the proposed project Apollo Hospital will undertake the operations and maintenance of the hospital which includes providing equipment to the doctors, nurses, paramedics, pharmacy and complete facilities management in the hospital. |
"In the first phase, the hospital will have a room with 5-10 beds and a minor operation theatre. Later we will decide to put more beds and facilities to the hospital as required," said Gupta. |
The hospital is expected to have a full fledged treatment facility to serve the locals as well as people of Mundra SEZ and Mundra Port. |
Gupta has said, " Our vision and developmental strategy for the zone is to work with the best in class partners for each element of the zone." |
