Murdoch to review Star operations

Media mogul and Star TV owner Rupert Murdoch, who arrived in the city yesterday from Beijing, is expected to review Star TV's operations today.

Murdoch, who is visiting India after a gap of four years, would review the operations of the newly launched StarOne, Star Utsav and Star News, Star TV sources said.

The chairman of News Corp is also scheduled to meet Anand Bazaar Patrika chief editor Aveek Sarkar and top industrialists in the metropolis.

Star TV CEO Michelle Guthrie would be hosting a private dinner for the media monarch today.

Murdoch met Balaji Telefilms owner Jeetendra on Saturday along with the company's content team.

Murdoch is expected to meet Tata Group officials and discuss their Direct-To-Home (DTH) joint venture. He will leave for Delhi on Monday, and is expected to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, home minister Shivraj Patil and I&B minister Jaipal Reddy.
