Murthy to head Lehman's Asia commodities desk

Lehman Brothers, the global investment bank, today announced the appointment of Arun Murthy as managing director and head of commodities trading, Asia.

Murthy will report locally to Jai Rajpal, head of Fixed Income, Singapore and Southeast Asia, and globally to Satu Parikh, global co-head of commodities in New York.

Murthy joins Lehman Brothers from Goldman Sachs where, for the past 11 years, he traded in a wide variety of commodities products. He was most recently head of agriculture trading for Asia, and prior to that he was head of crude and naphtha trading. He earlier spent three years at Singapore's Defence Science Organisation as a defence scientist.
