"We have tied up with Apple for stocking a whole range of products in shop-in-shop format in Music World, including iPods and accessories. Apple employees will train Music World employees who in turn will assist our consumers on usage of different Apple products," said Subrata Chowdhury, president, books and music of Spencer's Retail.
He said Music World is also in the process of redesigning its stores and adding new products and merchandise to offer complete range of personal entertainment products.
"The idea is to offer consumers complete personal entertainment which is a growing category now. So we have to look beyond selling just music and video. The new touch-and-feel look of the stores will also ensure accommodation of 20 per cent more products in the stores. The change will be visible by July," Chowdhury said. It will also add more product categories like shirts and gadgets.
"We are in the process of tying up with various brands for selling their shirts and disco wear through our Music World stores," Chowdhury informed.
The stores will also replace posters to accommodate LCD screens, showcasing Music World's new range of products.

Music World will also add 40,000 sq ft this year from 80,000 sq ft, which means 50 more stores across the country from the existing 249.
The Park Street store of Music World in Kolkata is the company's biggest revenue driver so far, recording sales of Rs 1 crore every month, while Banjara Hills in Hyderabad follows with Rs 70 lakh, he added.
