MVL to offer ULC mobile handsets in Gujarat

Gurgaon-based MVL Telecom will be rolling out ultra low cost (ULC) mobile handsets in Gujarat soon. The company plans to offer push mail feature on its upcoming ultra low cost (ULC) mobile handsets as well.

Talking about the push mail feature in ULC phones, Premadip Rishi, Chairman - MVL said, "MVL will be probably the first Indian mobile handset company to offer push mail feature since others are overseas companies. The launch of push mail feature reflects our company's philosophy of introducing technologically advanced products at competitive price points. Our mobile handsets will be priced around 50 per cent lower than these brands."

 

The company plans to roll out its mobile handsets into the Rs 70,000 crore market through its brand 'MVL' under the newly formed separate entity named MVL Telecom Limited.

The product innovations are spread right from the product features to the operation integrations to service back-ups. MVL Telecom's push mail feature in its handsets will be complemented with a track-pad, which are available in high-end handsets offered by global players. MVL Telecom intends to offer distinct products which will come pre-equipped with VAS complementing the overall brand positioning of high quality products at smart prices.

The company has invested around USD 5 million for setting up its own international R&D center, which will focus on introducing latest technology, consumer centric products at competitive price points.

Refusing to divulge investment details, Rishi said that MVL Telecom will also be setting up a manufacturing plant in India. Currently, the company products are manufactured at the from the World’s leading facility – Foxconn.
