What did you think of the Budget?
It’s a social reform mandate aimed at growth, may be a sign of a more inclusive India.
What were your expectations?
The Budget should aid in hospitals coming on par with hotels and other service industries. There should be a tax relaxation for at least 10 years, which is the growth period for a healthcare organisation.
Have your expectations been met?
This is a positive Budget for us on two counts — drugs for heart diseases are set to become cheaper, duties on life saving drugs have been reduced and the FM has also spoken of strengthening the delivery mechanism for healthcare.
Any particular concern?
I am eager to know more about the national action plan on climate change.
What does the Budget mean to you on a personal level?
Budgets are not analysed so aggressively internationally, but in India the Budget gives a fair idea of what we are steering towards.
