Mytrah Energy (India) Limited (formerly Caparo Energy Limited), a Hyderabad-based independent power producer, has strengthened its Indian development team with the induction of UB Reddy as its chief operating officer. Previously, Reddy was vice-president (business development and operations) at Enercon (India) Limited.

Also, Shrish Navlekar, former chief executive of the power business of Cairn India Limited, has joined as chief financial officer of Mytrah, while Vikram Kailas has been appointed as managing director, who will continue as finance director, with Ravi Kailas remaining as chairman.

Further, Mytrah has appointed Russel Walls, currently independent non-executive director of Biocon Limited (healthcare) and Signet Jewelers Limited (retail), and Peter Neville, currently chairman of Kleinwort Benson Limited, as independent executive directors to the board.

In a press release, Mytrah said its team had grown to over 60 members with experience at senior levels across the spectrum of wind farm development. These additions enhance the company’s ability to execute the projects it has under development with Suzlon Energy Limited, Gamesa Wind Turbines and the company's own land resources, it said.

“We now have one of the most experienced wind-farm execution and development teams in India, with capabilities across the entire value chain from land acquisition, wind resource analysis, design development, operations and management of projects,” said Ravi Kailas, chairman and CEO of Mytrah Energy (India) Limited.

“This will significantly increase our ability to deliver on our target of installing 5,000 Mw over the next few years (2017).”
