Nalco net up 28%

National Aluminium Company reported a 28 per cent rise in net profit during the first-quarter to Rs 280.56 crore, compared to Rs 219.03 crore during April-June 2004.
 
The company's total income rose 18 per cent to Rs 1,019.37 crore during the first quarter of the current financial year, while net sales was up 19.2 per cent at Rs 978.73 crore during the period.
 
The public sector company's profit before depreciation and tax rose 14.54 per cent to Rs 530.19 crore at the end of June this year as against Rs 462.86 crore during April-June 2004.
 
Earning per share was at 4.35 at the end of the first quarter as against Rs 3.40 during the corresponding period last year.
