National Aluminium Company (Nalco) has recorded 58 per cent jump in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 271 crore.
Despite reduced production level, the navratna company was able to post higher profits due to improved specific consumption of coal and caustic soda, a Nalco statement said.
Nalco produced 1.4 million tonne, 0.4 million tonne and 79,240 tonne of bauxite, alumina and aluminium respectively in the first quarter (April-June period) of this fiscal.
