Navratna PSU, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has paid advance tax of Rs 121 crore for the 2nd quarter of 2010 -11 as against Rs 52 crore in same quarter of previous year.
It may be mentioned that NALCO has paid a higher total of Rs 169 crore as advance tax for the first half of the current financial year as compared toRs 75 crore paid during the corresponding period of 2009-10.
The increased tax pay-out is primarily due to the better performance put up by the Company and improved market conditions.
