Nalco Q1 bottomline rises 85% to Rs 219 cr

Aluminium major National Aluminium Company (Nalco) has achieved a 85 per cent jump in net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal at Rs 219.03 crore compared with Rs 118.35 crore in the corresponding period last year.
 
Sales turnover increased to Rs 891.35 crore (Rs 664.88 crore). Alumina and aluminium output stood at 374,100 tonne and 73,454 tonne respectively.
 
Meanwhile, the company is awaiting the Centre's nod for its Rs 4000 crore expansion project, which will consolidate Nalco's leadership position in the Indian aluminium industry.
 
According to sources, the Centre has indicated that the expansion project will be cleared soon.
