National Aluniminum Company (Nalco) today reported 64.93 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 255.95 for the quarter ended December 31 on higher sales.
The state-owned firm had reported a net profit of Rs 155.18 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, it said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 1,425.02 crore from Rs 1,386.47 crore in the October-December quarter of the last fiscal.
In a separate filing, the aluminium maker said that its board has approved payment of an interim dividend of Rs 2 per share.
The scrip of the company rose by 1.7 per cent to Rs 394.2 per share at the close of the market today.
