Brijmohan Chiripal, managing director of Nandan Exim, told Business Standard, "We will export 20-30 per cent of our denim fabric this year and we look forward to maintaining the ratio of exports for the next three to four years. At present we are exporting our denim fabric to the European countries and Turkey. However, the exports have not been major so far. We expect to export 20-30 per cent of our denim fabric to these countries." |
When asked if the company is looking towards other countries for exports, Chiripal said, "Not at the moment as we will first accomplish the present set of export targets. We are also witnessing a higher demand from these countries at the moment. We may look towards other countries once these markets reach a saturation point. However, till then our focus will remain on these countries." |
On the company's garments unit being set up in Ahmedabad, Chiripal said, "The unit is set to be operational within the next three to four months. The garmenting unit will produce only denim products. An approximate investment of Rs 8 crore to Rs 10 crore has gone into setting up the unit." |
When asked if the company is looking forward to exporting the garments, he said, "First, we will cater to the domestic needs and then we may decide if we should export or not. However, if the demand for export arises then we may surely think seriously about exporting the garments also." |
