Nandan Exim net up 501%

Nandan Exim, a member of the Chiripal group, has posted 501 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 13.05 crore for the financial year ended March 2006 compared with Rs 2.17 crore in the previous year.

Sales revenue stood at Rs 128.93 crore, up 118 per cent compared with Rs 59.06 crore last year. Profit before tax was at Rs 20.27 crore, 505 per cent higher than the Rs 3.35 crore recorded last year.

Universal Cables net up

Universal Cables, an M P Birla group company, has recorded a 50 per cent increase in gross income to Rs 338.87 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006.

The company has achieved net profit of Rs 18.84 crore as compared with Rs 3.92 crore in the previous year. The company has announced an interim dividend of Rs 2 per share for the year 2005-06.

R S Lodha, chairman, stated that the company was progressing as per schedule on a major technological upgradation-cum-expansion programme involving a capital outlay of around Rs 63 crore. The expansion will be completed in 2006-07.

Vimal Oil net up 178%

Vimal Oil and Foods has posted 178 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 2.61 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2006 compared with Rs 94 lakh in the corresponding period last year.

Total sales stood at Rs 78.37 crore compared with Rs 75.84 crore in the year-ago period.

For the full year ended March 2006, the company's sales income went up by 53.23 per cent to Rs 366.39 crore. Profit before tax for the year stood at Rs 3.61 crore compared with Rs 1.44 crore for FY05.
