Narayana Murthy quits as SriLanka IT advisor

Narayana Murthy, chief mentor and chairman of the board of Infosys Technologies, has withdrawn from being the IT advisor to the Sri Lankan Government, said the company in a statement released today.

In a letter, Murthy thanked Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka for inviting him to be the IT advisor. However, due to personal reasons Murthy decided to withdraw. Last week in a bid to increase investments into the IT sector Sri Lankan Government had announced the appointment of Murthy as the international adviser on IT.
