IT industry body Nasscom today said the country could lose out on investments if certain tax and human resources related concerns were not taken care of.

"New IT companies will not consider India as an ideal investment destination if the government does not look after genuine concerns such as tax issue and human resources," Nasscom Chairman Ganesh Natarajan told reporters here.

Countries like China, Europe, Malaysia and Philippines are offering several incentives to lure IT investments, he added.

The government should seriously think about extending the Software Technology Parks of India scheme beyond 2010 to provide new IT companies a level-playing field.

The STPI scheme gives IT companies certain benefits including tax holidays, to operate in the country . The scheme is valid till March 2010.

Talking about issues related to the human resource management, he said, that there is an urgent need for nurturing domestic talent as per industry requirement to push up IT growth.

"Human resource is another issue which deserves to be looked into seriously," Natarajan said.

Another matter of concern would be the US regime's stance on the comprehensive Immigration Bill, he added.

"We are holding meeting with US officials to convince them that Indians are issued just 10 per cent of the total working visas issued by US and urging them to issue more visas for Indians." he said.
