Total income grew 31.92 per cent to Rs 183.54 crore for the quarter as compared with Rs 139.13 crore in the same quarter, a year ago. Sequentially, income from operations, however, marginally declined to Rs 177.61 crore from Rs 180.32 crore in the quarter ended September 2012. Expenditure grew 24.17 per cent.
The company said the increase in revenues was driven by APIs and formulations exports. While these two major business segments contributed almost equally to the revenues in the quarter under review, the contribution of bulk chemicals to the gross profit rose to Rs 16,14 crore from Rs 7.03 crore in the year ago period.
However, the same from the formulations, which enjoy higher margins over bulk chemicals, declined to Rs 25.31 crore from Rs 28.72 crore though its contribution to the revenues increased by Rs 3 crore during the period.
