With the demand for branded goggles and optical accessories soaring in north India, Nayan Opticals, a reputed optical accessories importer of Indore, has now decided to enter the north Indian market.

In an effort to establish optics showrooms in every major town, the company launched its first "super-specialty store" in Agra on Sunday.

Talking to Business Standard on this occasion, Bishandas Purasnani, chairman, Nayan Opticals, said the company was dealing directly with famous optics brands including Bausch&Lomb.

The company also resells a number of foreign and indigenously manufactured optical accessories & vision testing equipments imported directly or through the company's agents, Purasnani added.

He said after establishing its presence in the optics market in central India, the company had been pondering the options of expanding its business in major north Indian towns.

The expansion plan was, however, put in action when the Lyco Group offered to set up the first company showroom in the city of Taj.

At present, the "Nayan Optics Store" in Agra will only store popular international brands of spectacles & contact lenses and the entire range of products shall be launched only after surveying the pulse of the market, he added.

Talking about the future plans of the company, he said the future business prospects for optical accessories & vision testing equipments are very bright and the company is poised to take a full advantage of this impending boom in branded optics market by establishing a chain of "Optics stores" in every major city of north India.
