The complaints of cruelty with infants on reality show Pati Patni aur Woh has made the child rights commission, NCPCR, swing into action which has issued a notice to the TV channel and written to the Information and Broadcasting ministry to intervene.

Realising that with limited powers it cannot take concrete action against the channel NDTV Imagine, NCPCR has written to the I&B Ministry registering a complaint against the show. The directives of NCPCR are not mandatory and are rather recommendatory in nature.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has also issued a notice to the TV channel giving them time till October 7 to pull the show off air. “We have already issued a notice to the channel asking them to stop the broadcast of the serial,” NCPCR member Sandhya Bajaj said.
