Prannoy Roy-promoted New Delhi Television Ltd today announced it would launch a 24-hour news and current affairs channel in Bangladesh in partnership with the Beximco Group.
Beximco Group, which is the largest private sector industrial conglomerate in Bangladesh, through its media subsidiary, Independent Television Ltd, plans to launch the channel by early September, NDTV said in a statement.
The alliance between Beximco and NDTV extends beyond channel planning and execution. It would also entail NDTV assisting Beximco Group with overall operational and business management of the channel, NDTV said.
“We believe that our tie-up with a leading organisation such as NDTV Worldwide would ensure that we make a mark in the television industry,” Shayan F Rahman, director, Beximco Group said.
Shares of NDTV Ltd today closed at Rs 144.75 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.7 per cent from previous close.
