"We have identified some land in the periphery of Rajarhat, the paper work is still on and we will decide upon the land within a short time", claimed Harsh Vardhan Neotia, chairman of Neotia Elbit. The land was around 9 acres.
The proposed venture would have built-up area of 2.5 million square feet.

Litigation had delayed land acquisition and attempts at an out-of-court settlement failed. The proposed hospital would have a biotech research centre, alternative medical centre and a helicopter ambulance facility.
It would have about 500 beds initially and 1000 beds finally.

NE was planning another hospital at Siliguri on 3 acres with about 200 beds in the first phase by the end of this year, specializing in cardiac and orthopedic treatments, said Itamar Offer, chief executive officer (CEO) of NE.
Neotia said investment in both ventures was approximately Rs450 crore.

NE would open two speciality clinics in Salt Lake and New Alipore in Kolkata in the next four years, said Offer.
In the first phase two such speciality clinics would be opened and more would be rolled out later.

The Joint Venture has opened a new clinic, Takecare Diabetes Speciality Centre, on Rash Behari Avenue on Tuesday. Users at the clinic would have to pay membership fee of Rs 8450 in installments. Suryakanta Mishra, health minister of West Bengal, was present.
