Nestle to pay 180% 2nd interim dividend

The board of directors of Nestle India, which met today, has declared a second interim dividend of 180% i.e Rs 18 per equity share of Rs 10 each for the year 2005.

According to a release issued by Nestle India to the BSE today, the second interim dividend will be paid from December 22, 2005.

"The total dividend payment during the year 2005 would aggregate to Rs 23 per share (including an interim dividend of Rs 5 per share paid in May 2005)," the release added.

Martial Rolland, chairman and managing director of the company, said: "Our company's policy is to reward shareholders. This is expressed in our dividend distribution - the one for this year being the highest paid dividend in any one year out of the profits for that year."
