Network18 group CEO Sai Kumar steps down

He has been one of the key pillars of the Network18 story, says Founder and Editor, Raghav Bahal

Media group Network18 today said that its group CEO B Sai Kumar has resigned from the company after serving for 14 years.

Kumar, who was elevated to the top post in November 2011, was with the group since its formative days, Network18 said in a statement today.

He was the man behind creation and management of group's ventures in partnership with CNBC and CNN and its foray into entertainment sector in partnership with Viacom.

Kumar was also on the board of joint ventures of the group and had charted out Network18's business turnaround and return to profitability, it added.

Commenting on the development, Network18 Founder and Editor Raghav Bahal said: "He has been one of the key pillars of the Network18 story. I am truly privileged to have been able to work with some one like Sai".
 
On his departure, Kumar said: "While all good things comes to an end, I see it as a new beginning and I am positive and hopeful that Network18 scales new height here on.
