Neuland Laboratories Limited, a provider of drug discovery and development support services, commenced manufacturing of peptides blocks on Thursday. Peptides are smaller versions of proteins, which play a key role in regulating body functions such as the release of hormones, the regulation of blood sugar levels, bone metabolism and various neurological processes.
In the initial phase, the company would target the US and European markets. Developing markets will follow in the next phase. “Our foray into peptides is a reflection of our focused plans of being profitable and giving more value to our investors, besides growing our client base,” Neuland CMD, DR Rao, stated in a release.
