New ED of Pharmexcil

P V Appaji on Wednesday assumed charge as the executive director of Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) at Hyderabad. Earlier he was the director of National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, New Delhi.

Pharmexcil is a statutory body recently set up by the ministry of commerce in response to the pharma industry associations' demand for an exclusive council to promote pharmaceutical exports.

Appaji joined Pharmexcil on deputation from NPPA for a period of three years.

He has a doctorate degree in pharmacy and has around 30 years of experience in various government organisations like Andhra Pradesh drug control administration, Bureau of Industrial Costs and Prices (BICP), among others of the ministry of chemicals & fertilizers, and National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA).

The regional office at Mumbai is functioning with Raghuveer Kini as additional executive director and S Srinivasan as the advisor.
