Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, a Navratna company under the administrative control of Ministry of Coal has reported 8.06 per cent growth in net profit during the second quarter ended September 30, 2014 at Rs Rs 259.35 crore as compared to Rs 240 crore for the same period in the previous year 2013-14.
Sales turnover stands rose by 1.42 per cent to Rs 1,402.49 crore from Rs 1,382.82 crore for the same period in the same period last year.
During the first half of the fiscal, NLC has generated 9,983.10 million units of power, achieving 100.04 per cent of the set target.
NLC operates three open cast lignite mines at Neyveli and one at Barsingsar, Rajasthan of total capacity of 30.60 million tonnes per annum and three thermal power stations at Neyveli and one at Barsingsar with a total installed capacity of 2,740 Mega Watt.
