The Unit-I (2x250 MW) of Neyveli Thermal Power Station-II Expansion has completed its continuous operation for 72 hours starting from June 30 to July 03 and qualified for Commercial Operation (COD).
With this, the power generating capacity of NLC has increased from 3,490 Mw to 3,740 Mw.
NLC is setting up a 2x250 MW Thermal Power Station at Neyveli as its Thermal Power Station-II Expansion.
Earlier, the Unit-II of this Thermal Power Station has attained Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) on April 21, 2015. Today, the Unit-I is put into Commercial Operation.
Recently, the Unit-I (500 MW) of NTPL Thermal Power Station, implemented through a Joint Venture Company, NLC Tamil Nadu Power Limited (NTPL) incorporated by NLC (89%) and TANGEDCO (11%) attained COD on June 6.
The pre-commissioning activities in Unit-II of NTPL TPS are nearing completion and this Unit will also be ready for commercial operation during this month, said NLC.
Hence, the company will raise its power generation capacity to 4,240 MW.
Till the end of 2014-15, company’s power generation capacity was 2,740 MW. Within a four month period the company is able to increase its power generation capacity to two folds.
