The loss was mainly on account of the replacement of the Retention Pricing Scheme (RPS) with new Group Concession Scheme (GCS) with effect from April 1, 2003 with regard to subsidy payment by the central government to urea producers.
On the production front, the company continued to do well with both the units put together producing close to 3 lakh tonnes of urea with over 100 per cent capacity utilisation.
